Form or Join a Leadership Club

Do you and your fellow HYI Ambassadors need some ideas on how to join or start a club? Keep reading...

Step 1: Get Together

E-mail or call all of your fellow HYI Ambassadors in your school, and set up a time to meet.

Step 2: Decide What to Do

Is there an existing club in your school that you can partner with? If so, get together with the leader of that club to talk about your ideas.

Are you going to start your own club? If so, is there someone in the group who knows how to start a club in your school? If not, ask a trusted teacher or counselor.

Step 3: Bring Your Friends

Recruit at least two friends who did not attend the HYS to join the club with you - all students need to know how to get to college!

Step 4: Establish Regular Meeting Times

Set up a time to meet at least once a month. Download the presentations from www.hispanicyouth.org/institute, and share the information with your friends.

Step 5: Report Back!

Report your achievements on the discussion boards at www.hispanicyouth.org/institute. Let your fellow HYI Ambassadors know what you have accomplished!
