Apply for the Youth Venture/Hispanic Youth Institute Competition

Do you want to improve your community? Maybe you've dreamed of helping to reduce teen pregnancy, stopping gang violence, or encouraging other students to go to college - whatever your cause, HCF and Youth Venture are here to help you make a difference.

Up to $10,000 is available in grants for budding change-makers. Up to 20 grants of $500 each will be distributed to student teams with winning proposals for projects that will make a difference in their communities.

Competition Requirements:

  • The proposed project must be youth-created and youth-led.
  • The proposed project must benefit the community.
  • The proposed project is ongoing and sustainable.
  • The proposed project must have at least two team leaders (one under the age of 21); in addition, at least one team member must have participated in a Hispanic Youth Symposium in the past five years.
  • The proposed project must have the support of an adult ally.
  • The proposed project must involve the creation of a new organization or be a new project of an existing organization.

Competition Timeline:

March 26th - Applications Due
April 30th - Winners Announced
